0 for 3

Okay, what am I doing wrong? I've changed about 99.9 percent of Joshua's diapers, put him to bed every night, sing him songs, "eat him up", and still (like his 2 older brothers) "Da Da" was very CLEARLY his first word. It does melt my heart when Benjamin comes by or picks him up and he says, "Da Da." But, to say I'm not a little jealous would be lying! Anyways... once they start saying words it's such a fun new phase. Any tips for making my next (no, I'm not pregnant or planning it yet) baby say Mom first?

Ha! Da da must be easier to say because I'm pretty sure my 3 have said it first too.

And tell Benjamin he needs to change more than .01 percent of those diapers :)

any doctor you talk to will tell you that dada is way easier to say and is usually the baby's first word. Sorry!:)
Ya, Benjamin, more diaper changing!

No tips - and they all come out looking like da-da too!

April,
don't you know they're supposed to say "da da" first. That's how you train them to ask dad to do everything for them BEFORE they come ask you. (It's especially lovely when they throw up in the middle of the night and you hear, "daaad," instead of mom.)

I like Jenny's answer the best because after a few babies, I really discovered how great it was to have someone besides myself to do some of the icky stuff. Yes, some of it is icky like throw-up in the middle of the night. Love, Mamajoanne I am glad all my son's are such good fathers.
